Sensitive Environments
Aqueonics was the first wastewater treatment company in 1986 to be approved for construction of a 100,000 gpd facility in the Pinelands Forest Preserve of Mays Landing, NJ. The facility and its subsurface discharge met some of the strictest quality demands in the country at the time of 2.5 mg/l of nitrogen. Discharge beds were located in a power line right-of-way to allow full development of the land.

 The Oaks was unique in being the first to earn the approval of the Pinelands Commission for service to a 642-unit adult recreational development in the Pinelands Forest Preserve near Mays Landing. The 100,000 gpd facility meets the Commission limits for nitrogen that were some of the most stringent in the country at the time at 2.5 mg/l nitrogen. Discharge beds were placed within the power line right-of-way to allow full use of developable land.
Plumas

 Aqueonics developed the 25,000 gpd Aerobic/Anaerobic Trickling Filter plant in 1979 to serve a northern California country club development adjacent to the Feather River. Reclaimed wastewater from this system is discharged to a storage pond and used for golf course irrigation.
Plumas Pines II - 1982

Aqueonics developed the Plumas Pines II plant in 1982. This 50,000 gpd Aerobic/Anaerobic Trickling Filter plant serve a northern California country club development adjacent to the Feather River. The system recharges the sensitive aquifer with subsurface discharge.
